Mr. Explorer

Pierscen is loving having a new home to explore. It is both exciting, and difficult. Nothing is safe. He often seems to only have two crawling speeds: Turtle and Rabbit. When he spots something he wants, he often drops his head to his chest and pushes into high gear. Ryan says it's like he is trying his best to become aerodynamic. It's pretty funny.

He loves crawling into difficult to reach places. He is getting better at getting himself out though. He still loves playing with Dodger. That toy you can see in the picture below is a favorite of theirs. Dodger prefers for someone to throw it, but he is okay with playing tug-of-war with Pierscen every now and again.

One of Ryan's first projects was to go around and replace the door stop things. Pierscen loves playing with them. I love it when it's fairly quiet in the house and I am starting to wonder where Pierscen is when I hear the "thwang" of one of the door stops and I know he is having fun.

He loves things that make loud noises - though not all of them are as harmless as the door stops. Goodness. Time to invest in those childproof things that keep drawers closed. Lots of them.

Here is little P demonstrating his climbing abilities. He has made it up a single stair, but no further. He has fallen off more than once, but the last time he climbed up, I found him clinging to the banister to keep him upright. Time to get another gate. On the up side, this kid will be a stair master!

Lots of pictures. Lots of fun.

He discovered he could crawl under his crib and this has been one of his favorite places to be. Although, he hasn't quite figured out that he can indeed crawl out again if he just ducks his head a bit. Ryan has managed to coax him out once. He will figure it out. :)

Little man's hair is a bit out of control. It's hilarious though. Check out that bed head!

Pierscen now loves to crawl around his crib and pull himself up when we try to put him down. It usually takes several attempts to convince him to actually nap. Exploring the crib and acting like a jail bird is far too much fun.

Sometimes our little jail bird needs a cell mate...

 Please let me out!!!

Bwuahahaha! Dodger you are mine!

Dodger has made a discovery of his own. Pierscen has toys in the tub. Fun ones. Ones that would no doubt he a blast to chew on. Because of this, bath time is both a lot of fun, and pain in the rear if Dodger is in the room. He is constantly trying to jump in the tub and steal the toys when Pierscen isn't paying attention. However, he doesn't really need to wait for that. Pierscen loves to share. It's just unfortunate that he is sharing naturally and I am doing my best to discourage it. Hahaha. Sharing is good! Just not with these toys. Ha.

We are having a lot of fun. I love watching Pierscen grow and explore. He is getting smarter and smarter every day. It is thrilling, and a little sad too. They grow up so fast!

  1. They really do grow up so fast! I love all the pictures and videos. I think we have a bunch of those door latches if you want some!
