Send The Kids To The Farm

I mentioned in another post that we are part of a playgroup that is geared toward preschool age kids. Each week they do a different field trip that has something to do with the letter of the alphabet they are "studying." "C" was for Corn Maze. This is the same corn maze we attended last year, but this year was even more fun because we scheduled a time just for our group so we weren't fighting crowds. That and Pierscen is older and was able to be a lot more involved. We had such a great time!

We started off in the corn pits. I can't say I have ever stepped into one until that day. They are fun!

From there we took the tractor to the petting zoo. P loved the ride last year and this year was no different. He stood up and turned around so he could watch things go by.

The kids all loved the petting zoo. I was bummed for two reasons, but they were pretty small reasons. 1. Mike the giant bunny was not out for the kids to pet. In fact, I asked about Mike and I think they may have sold him. They still had several other giant bunnies for the kids to look at, but they were all penned up so the kids couldn't sit with them like last time. Oh well. 2. P is so fast and moves so much that trying to get shots of him holding still or smiling didn't work so well. Haha. At least he had a great time.

The picture above was my attempt to get him to pose for me. He would not smile and he would not look. Stinker!

Following the petting zoo, we headed back so the kids could do the corn maze. The lady that I carpooled with had to leave early, so we weren't sure if we would have time for the kids to go through the corn maze, even though they were taking the shorter route.

So we opted to do the hay maze. It wasn't very big and there was no risk of the kids running through the corn stalks and getting lost. :)

That being said, we finished our maze only a few minutes before the rest of the group finished the other one. Oh well! So we played in the corn pit for a few more minutes, bounced on some inflatable horses, and took a few more pictures.

We had such a great time! This particular group is made up almost entirely of girls from our last yard and they always have such a great turnout. Part of it is that they have a great group leader, but a lot of it is just that all the girls want to participate. I wish we had as good of a participation with things in our ward. Sigh... I will keep trying! That's the important thing! And as far as Pierscen goes, he is happy to make friends with anyone. He is a friendly little bug. I sure love that about him!

  1. That looks like so much fun! What a blast. And you look mighty beautiful, especially to be visiting a farm, ha!
