Petroglyphs and Bosque Trails

Sunday was a lot more chill. :) We listened to the morning session of Conference and then went on a walk up Piedras Marcadas Canyon to find petroglyphs. This is only about a 5 minute drive from our house. Who knew? I think the word "canyon" is a bit misleading as that makes it sound like we were up in the mountains. This canyon is right behind a residential area where it's mostly open and flat minus the lava rock flows. It was really cool. I thought it might be difficult to find the petroglyphs but they are everywhere!

It was a nice little outing and it was really fun to explore something new in the area.

We headed back the house and made conference goodies including BBQ lil smokies and 7 layer bean dip. Yum!

We watched conference and had a relaxing evening at home.

Monday morning Ryan headed off to work. I watched a couple kids for my friend for a few hours in the morning. Opa likes to stay busy so he put himself to work in the garage getting everything cleaned and organized. I wish I had taken a before picture because wow! It looks amazing! Thank you Opa! Oma was super helpful with the kids and cleaning dishes and helping around the house.

We went to dinner at Sweet Tomatoes and then went down to the Bosque to go for a walk. We discovered a new area that was really pretty and enjoyable to walk around.

Oma and Opa had to head home bright and early the next day. We are so grateful they came to visit. We love having visitors and it was such a fantastic weekend. Thank you for coming! Who's coming to visit next? :)
