The Rest of October

The rest of October went something like this:

A pumpkin shirt to start things off right.

A warm roaring fire and a daddy to read with.

Another dust of snow and still very green trees.

A firetruck to sit in after making an ambulance at the Home Depot craft day.

The real miracle of the month... Aunt Necia to the rescue! I didn't know what to dress P up for for Halloween. He has been OBSESSED with Toy Story and I remembered that Necia had a Buzz Lightyear costume, so I sent her a text asking if she still had it. Within a few days, a box was on my door with not just the Buzz costume, but Woody too! This was an amazing discovery for me (I forgot she had Woody too) because A. P likes Woody way more, and B. the Buzz costume was too big for him this year anyway. When I showed him the costume he about died he was so excited. Thank you Necia!!!

Notice that the snow picture and the pictures above and below were only taken a few days apart. Below are pictures from our walk between conference sessions. Beautiful weather. Much better than the massive snow storm that hit us last October Conference.

Ryan discovered this paintball stuff in the basement along with some really old paintballs. So for several days in a row, Ryan and Pierscen would head out back to practice with the sling shot. P was very disappointed when the paintballs ran out.

We discovered another new park and had a great time exploring it. (It is handicap accessible so there are ramps everywhere.)

Here is my 30 week picture...

Poor Grizzly Bear had an "accident" while Pierscen was supposed to be napping... Thank goodness it all washed off quite easily and I guess his mouth, eyes, and ears and all cavity free.

This is a typical Dodger moment - this one taken during a piano lesson. He tosses his toys under the couch and then barks because he wants them and can't get them out. Well... that's not entirely true. He CAN fit under, but then he just snorts and huffs because he acts like he is stuck. Special animal.

Another cool neighborhood moment... Love seeing these big guys just hanging out in the yards.

P chillin' in the backyard with dad's iPod.

The Primary Presidency got me flowers as a thank you for writing their Primary Program this year. It really made me feel loved and appreciated!

We made it out to the Corn Maze/Petting Farm again. To my disappointment, there were no giant bunnies out for the kids, but P still had a great time. (The giant bunnies are my absolute favorite.)

Pierscen and Jackson had a really great time. I sure love these two! They are such great friends!

P was helping me make bread one day and he accidentally dropped the measuring cup in as it was going. The result was an explosion of dough and a broken measuring cup handle. But I couldn't stop laughing. I think there are still splotches of dough near the ceiling I haven't scrapped off.

P and I decided to participate in my family's annual pumpkin carving contest via text message. The theme this year was Pixar. So naturally we decided to carve Woody! I actually free handed the pattern from one online, but omitted the hat and neckerchief so that we could use Pierscen's costume. :)

Hands down the best entry from that competition was by Fred and Jari who used the competition to announce they are expecting a baby BOY! So excited for them!

That night while getting P ready for bed... all three boys (Dodger just out of frame) passed out. Guess it was a good night.

Pierscen turned in a bag of soda cans at the recycling center and earned $1.06. He was pretty dang proud of that money - especially the $1 bill. We will be doing this from now on.

We attended Little Hands at the Nic and I think this was the most fun P has had in a while. They attached big sheets to the kids and let them run around with their super hero capes.

P kept yelling, "To the rescue!" as he dashed around.

He also got a free train ride. I really admire the ladies pulling these cute kids around. That was NOT easy!

We had our ward Halloween dinner/Trunk or treat, but some little boy didn't get a nap that day. He passed out a few bites into dinner. I let him sleep until it was time for the Trunk or Treat. He wasn't thrilled about being woken up, but he got over it pretty quick. ;)

On Halloween Day, we attended a party/get together at Tanya's in the morning. I will admit freely I am not one that enjoys dressing up. But, it was a costume party, and I often find myself hilarious, so I dressed up as my future self: this is what I will look like shortly after baby arrives. Hahaha. I'm so funny!

Of course next to Mrs. Gorgeous herself, I felt really ugly, but that's alright. :) We had a great time.

I did manage to convince Pierscen to take a nap before we went to our next party/trick-or-treating that evening. When I walked in to wake him up, his is how I found him sleeping. Haha!

We attended a party at our friends Vivi's house. Then we all went trick-or-treating together. I was actually nervous about the trick-or-treating part. I didn't think P was old enough to last very long going door to door, but that boy would have gone on forever! And the weather was amazing. We had a blast! Toward the end P just took off his hat and used it as his treat bag which people thought was super cute.

Sheriff Woody and his pal Jackson the Werewolf! Ryan and I... well, again, we aren't much on dressing up, but I still found myself clever with our pathetic costumes. We were eggs and bacon!

We are very grateful we have such great friends here. We had a fantastic time.
